Laie Illegal Sellers - Char Editor
Early prototype of a character editor I'm using as dev tool for an upcoming indie game set 21XX years ago in Barcelona, when it was part of the Laietan Iberian tribe.
I'm using this editor to test and iterate the art style, color pallete, designs, animations a custom layered sprite animation system, a related procedurally generated characters system (plus its resulting combinations) and more.
Controls:
Use up and down arrow keys and RETURN or click with the mouse to navigate through the layers and change their values. Please notice that some hair and head accesory combinations don't look well when choosed manually, so please use short hair when using some hats or helmets.
Click the "Flip" button (or press the "F" key) to flip horizontally the character, or in the "Random" button (or press the "R" key) to choose a random look.
Press 1 or 0 in the num. pad or click the biggest character image to switch between animations.
Please understand it's just an early version. All the UI and character art and animation are WIP placeholders. Gameplay prototype, female characters, monsters and more animations are planned but still not available.
Please, send me your feedback about color pallette, lighting, proportions, art style, your favorite combinations of hairstyle/clothes/accesories/etc, any bugs you may find, etc. in order to iterate and improve the art style before moving to the next important steps like animation or female characters.
